After years spinning
records in the techno underground, i feel its about time to tell
organizers what i expect when being booked for an event.
Some organizers aren't djs
themselves, so i understand that they maybe sometimes don't think of
the equipment for the dj.
When a organizer book a dj, he must understand that if he have
provided a good dj setup for the dj to work on,
he will get a much higher performance from the dj, which will lead to
a happier returning audience.
Better setup = Better performance !
Here is a rundown of the setup i would prefer / expect to work on for a
booking.
2 x Technics: 1210 or 1200 (With working
lights & good Ortofon concord needles)
1 x Pioneer: 800 Mixer (Any mixer will
do, as long as there is a eq, and volume control for the monitor sound)
1 (2) x Monitor sound (Any brand will do)
1 x Native: Traktor Audio 8 (If possible,
otherwise ill bring my own)
1 x Native: Kontrol X1 (If
possible, otherwise ill bring my own)
Please make sure the
turntables are in a stabile setup so feedback wont accrue, from the
PA system on the dance floor.
